A turntable shot blasting machine (rotary table shot blast machine) combines centrifugal wheel blasting with a rotating work table. It delivers 360° no-dead-angle cleaning. The workpiece stays fixed on the table and turns in place. It never tumbles against other parts. That makes this machine the right choice for disc-shaped, flat and collision-sensitive components.

Buyers use several names for the same equipment. The three most common are rotary table shot blasting machine, turntable shot blast machine and rotating table shot blasting machine. German and Italian builders usually write rotary table blast machine, without the word shot. Indian suppliers list it as a swing table shot blasting machine. All of these describe one machine type.

How Does a Turntable Shot Blasting Machine Work?

  1. Loading: the workpiece is placed on the circular table inside the blast chamber, optionally secured with a fixture. The door closes and seals.
  2. High-speed blasting: blast wheels spin at up to 2,800 r/min. Centrifugal force accelerates shot or grit to 60–80 m/s in a dense, rain-like stream.
  3. Rotating cleaning: the table turns the part at an adjustable 0–15 r/min. Every face receives uniform impact, with no blind spots and no manual repositioning.
  4. Abrasive recycling: a screw conveyor lifts spent shot to an air-wash separator. Usable abrasive returns to the wheels; fines are discharged.
  5. Dust collection: a pulse-jet bag filter or cyclone-plus-cartridge system keeps emissions within standards.

What Do Buyers Call This Machine in Different Markets?

Naming differs by region and by catalogue tradition. Searching only one term hides most of the market. This table lists the names we see in supplier catalogues and buyer enquiries.

Name used Where it is common
rotary table shot blasting machine Global trade term, B2B platforms and most export catalogues
turntable shot blasting machine / turntable shot blast machine China, Southeast Asia, general English trade
rotary table blast machine Germany — the short form without the word shot
turning chamber blast machine Germany — the wider category covering table machines
table blast machine / table shot blast machine North America — Pangborn catalogue wording
rotating table shot blasting machine European industrial directories and classification sites
swing table shot blasting machine India — the standard listing name on Indian B2B markets
table type / turntable type shot blasting machine China and export B2B titles
satellite table blast machine / indexing turntable machine Multi-station versions, Europe and India
rotary table machine for surface fatigue strengthening Automotive and aerospace fatigue-strengthening duty

Chinese model codes are also search terms. Q35, Q3512, Q3525, Q36 and Q76 all refer to turntable machines. Reference models from premium brands include the German RDT and RST, the Italian RT and TR, the American LK table series and the TAS rotary table.

Which Parts Is a Turntable Shot Blasting Machine Best For?

The core advantage is handling flat parts, disc parts and workpieces that must not be tumbled:

Part Category Typical Workpieces
Disc & rotary components A shot blasting machine for gears, flanges and wheels: gear shafts, hubs, clutch plates, brake discs, sprockets and aluminium alloy wheels
Flat & thin-wall parts A surface fatigue strengthening machine for diaphragm and leaf springs, aluminium die castings, thin-wall heat-treated parts — fixed processing prevents deformation
Cast & forged blanks A shot blasting machine for engine connecting rods, cast housings, tie rods, valve bodies — removes sand, scale and weld spatter
Precision components High-spec automotive parts, a shot blasting machine for aluminium die castings and premium hardware — adjustable blast intensity
Welded assemblies Fabricated frames, flanged joints and machined weldments needing spatter and scale removal before coating

What Are the Table Size and Load Capacity Limits?

Table diameter ranges from ø600 mm to ø2,500 mm. Maximum load runs from a few hundred kilograms to several tonnes, by model. Very large or heavy workpieces need another machine. A hanger type shot blasting machine or a through-feed roller conveyor shot blasting machine handles that duty instead.

What Are the Technical Parameters of the Q35 Series?

These are standard published configurations. Every value below is a real machine figure, not an estimate.

Pieces per hour, abrasive consumption per shift and wear-part service life are not fixed values. They depend on your part mass, required grade and media size. We calculate them from your drawings before quotation. We will not publish a number we cannot stand behind.

Which Factories Use This Machine?

  • Foundries — sand and scale removal from cast blanks
  • Automotive manufacturers — connecting rods, gears, wheels, hubs and chassis parts
  • Aerospace suppliers — aerospace surface fatigue strengthening to raise fatigue strength and service life
  • Machining plants — cleaning and strengthening after heat treatment
  • Hardware factories — batch finishing of small and medium parts
  • Rail and shipbuilding — structural parts, flanges and fittings

When Is a Turntable Shot Blasting Machine the Wrong Choice?

Honest selection saves money on both sides. These four duties belong to a different machine:

  • High-volume small parts. Screws, nuts, bushings and small castings run far cheaper in a tumble belt or tilted drum machine. Loading them one table at a time is a waste of capacity.
  • Long plate, beams and profiles. Steel plate, H-beam and angle need a continuous through-feed roller conveyor machine, not a batch table.
  • Very heavy or very large workpieces. Anything above the table load rating or beyond the chamber envelope belongs on a bogie or hanger machine.
  • Deep internal passages. A rotating table exposes external faces well. Long bores, closed cavities and blind holes need a lance or a dedicated internal blasting station.

Send us the part and we will tell you which machine fits. If a turntable is not the answer, we say so.

Costs and quotation

Buyers benchmark our equipment against Wheelabrator (Germany), Pangborn (USA) and SINTO (Japan). As a Wheelabrator alternative shot blasting machine supplier, the comparison is straightforward:

Item Premium Western & Japanese Brands Our Machine
Cleaning grade & performance Sa 2.5–Sa 3, surface fatigue strengthening capable Same — same output and process capability
Spare-part lead time Weeks to months, imported Factory-direct, short lead time
Customisation Limited, high engineering cost OEM / ODM — table size, load rating, fixture and wheel power configurable

The economics compound. Blades, liners and control cages wear continuously. Low consumable prices usually save more over five years than the machine price gap. We also supply Pangborn compatible spare parts for machines already in service.

Note: Wheelabrator, Pangborn and SINTO are registered trademarks of their respective owners. Brand names are referenced for compatibility and comparison purposes only. Spare parts supplied are aftermarket, non-original replacement components.

Do You Offer OEM / ODM and Aftermarket Spare Parts?

We are an OEM ODM shot blasting machine manufacturer — a source factory in China, not a trading company. As a turntable type shot blasting machine builder, we match every machine to your parts. Table diameter, load capacity, wheel power, fixtures and dust extraction are all configurable.

  • OEM: built to your specification, under your brand.
  • ODM: full design from your samples, drawings or production target.
  • Contact us for a quotation based on the machine configuration, production capacity, and project requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a turntable shot blasting machine used for?

It cleans and surface fatigue strengthenings disc-shaped, flat and delicate parts that cannot be tumbled. Think gears, flanges, wheels, clutch plates, springs, connecting rods and die castings. Parts stay fixed on a rotating table. Blast wheels fire from multiple angles. A turntable shot blast machine therefore suits fragile, precision work.

Is a turntable machine the same as a rotary table shot blasting machine?

Yes. It is one machine type under different trade names. Chinese and Asian catalogues say turntable. European catalogues say rotary table blast machine. North American catalogues say table blast machine. Indian suppliers say swing table shot blasting machine. When you compare offers, check the table diameter, load rating and wheel power instead of the name.

How is a turntable machine different from a tilted drum or tumble belt machine?

In a drum or belt machine, parts roll and strike each other. On a turntable they stay stationary and rotate in place. No impact damage, no deformation. Choose a turntable for flat, thin-wall or precision parts. Choose a tilted drum machine for large batches of small, collision-tolerant parts.

What is a satellite table or indexing turntable machine?

A satellite machine has several small tables mounted on one large rotating table. Each small table also spins on its own axis. While one station is inside the blast chamber, others can be loaded and unloaded outside it. This cuts idle time and suits high-volume transmission and gear work. Our single-table Q35 series is the simpler batch version. Satellite layouts are available under OEM and ODM.

Which parts should NOT be processed on a turntable machine?

Very large or heavy workpieces beyond the table rating. High-volume small parts like screws are cheaper in a drum machine. Long plate and H-beam suit a roller-conveyor machine. Deep internal passages need a lance or dedicated station. Tell us your part and we confirm the right model.

What table sizes and load capacities are available?

Table diameter from ø600 mm to ø2,500 mm. Maximum load from a few hundred kilograms to several tonnes, by model. Standard published models are the Q3512 and QF3512 at Φ1200 mm table and 400 kg load, and the QF3525E at Φ2500 mm table and 1000 kg load. Custom sizes are available under OEM/ODM.

What blast speed and table rotation does it use?

Blast wheels run at up to 2,800 r/min, accelerating abrasive to 60–80 m/s. Table rotation adjusts from 0 to 15 r/min. Cycle time tunes to the required cleaning grade or peening intensity.

Can it clean both faces of a flat part in one cycle?

Yes, if the wheels are laid out for it. Wheels mounted above and below the table plane strike both faces while the part rotates. Single-side wheel layouts need the operator to turn the part over. Tell us which faces matter and we position the wheels accordingly.

Can a turntable machine do surface fatigue strengthening as well as cleaning?

Yes. Adjust abrasive type, size and blast intensity. As a rotary table machine for surface fatigue strengthening, it improves fatigue life. That is why aerospace and automotive suppliers specify it for gears, springs and connecting rods.

What cleaning grade does it reach?

Sa 2.5 to Sa 3 per ISO 8501-1, depending on abrasive size, wheel power and cycle time. Surface roughness depends on the media you run. Coarse grit gives a deeper profile for coating adhesion. Fine shot gives a smoother finish and a peening effect.

Costs and quotation

Price follows table diameter, load rating, wheel count and wheel power. A small single-table machine and a Φ2500 mm twin-wheel machine are very different builds. As a source factory we quote direct, with no import margin and no agent markup. Send your part data and we return a fixed quotation with the model we recommend.

Get a Quotation

Send your part name, material, maximum diameter and weight, daily volume and cleaning grade. We confirm the right table size and blast-wheel configuration. If a turntable is not the best fit, we tell you which machine is. Request a turntable shot blasting machine price quotation with your part data. The same data also fixes a rotary table shot blasting machine price, because table size and wheel count drive the cost.
