Regular inspection reduces unplanned downtime and keeps the blasting pattern, abrasive circulation and dust-control system working consistently. Maintenance must always follow the machine manual and site lockout procedures.
Daily checks
- Check guards, doors, seals and safety interlocks before operation.
- Inspect the blast pattern and finished workpiece for changes in coverage or surface quality.
- Confirm the abrasive level and remove foreign material from the recovery system.
- Check for unusual noise, vibration, heat or leakage around motors, bearings and conveyors.
- Monitor dust-collector pressure and empty collection containers as required.
Weekly checks
- Inspect blast-wheel blades, control cages, impellers and liners for uneven wear.
- Check elevator belts or chains, buckets, screws and screens for damage and correct tension.
- Inspect chamber liners, curtains and seals, especially at direct-impact areas.
- Clean sensors and verify emergency stops and other protective devices.
Periodic maintenance
Lubricate specified points, inspect electrical connections, verify motor current and alignment, service filters and review wear-part replacement intervals. Record readings and replacements so gradual changes can be identified before they affect production. When changing abrasive or processing a new workpiece, recheck wheel settings, conveying speed and dust-collection balance.
